This book had me crying happy and sad tears. It mended my broken heart that The love of Next Life caused.

It picks up 4 years later after Lennon leaves for England. She ended up in Paris and is a great artist working in a gallery and selling her art work. She gets a call from Claire telling her she needs to come home. Turns out her dad had a massive heart attack and is in a medically induced coma.

She returns home and is greeted by none other than her best friend Sam. The minute they drive into her old hometown all the heartache comes rushing back.

Macon ended up joining the marines and then got honorably discharged due to a helicopter crash and him breaking his femur.

She assumes the worst thinking he got discharged due to drugs or what not. They both went through it. She has so much animosity towards Macon. They dance around each other. He’s got secrets of his own as does she.

As the book progresses the secrets of what happened 4 years ago on the day that she got sent off to live with her aunt comes out. Turns out that Macon actually wrote Lennon a letter explaining how he needed to get himself right to be the man that deserved her love. She never got it because Claire took it out of Lennons suitcase. She still thinks he's the druggie he used to be because she had zero contact with him the last 4 years thinking he wanted nothing to do with her. He thought she wanted nothing to do with him because all these years he thought she got the letter and just didn't’ care.

Just all the truths come out and the find peace and love and happiness.

I know i'm all over the place with this but honestly I don't even know how to put my love of this book into words. They were both just so well written.

I’m late to the party with these books, I know but go read them now if you haven’t.
