The queen of dark romance, Shantel tessier, does it again.

If you want a book with trigger warnings a mile long and love a good sick, twisted and depraved love story, this is the book! That prologue...holy hell 🥵

This book was all about degradation, manipulation, possessiveness and humiliation, but also a cute and definitely twisted love story. Definitely not a love story in the traditional sense lmao. The way she plays feminism into the book is great too! Like Taylor knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to ask or beg 😉 for it.

Colt and Raylee, or princess as Colt likes to call her, are stepsiblings. Her mom married his dad a couple years back. He knew the minute he saw her that she was going to be his whether she wanted to be or not. They hated each other so much but Colt was the only one that understood what she needed sexually. She always gave in to him because he was the only one that could “pleasure” her lol. He degraded her and humiliated her but she thrived off it. Like i said, it's a twisted love story lol He needed her just as much as she needed him. They ruined each other for other people.

I LOVED The Ritual, The sinner and The Sacrifice by her, and this book fit right in with that. Dark and great🖤 I loved seeing Tyson and Ryat having a role in this book. In Tysons book we read about a group of guys that worked for him and I'm assuming Colt, Finn, Jenks and Alex were that crew. I liked having the overlap!

Books with dual POVs and flashbacks to the past that explain what is happening in the present. Just overall Shantel is a master with words and i will run to buy anything she ever writes!
